Welcome to Sole…my name is Jo.

I began my yoga journey when I stepped into my first yoga class nearly 20 years ago, looking for ways to support my body in a wholesome way and intrigued by yogic philosophy and ancient wisdom. In that very first yoga class the teacher referred to yoga as a ‘science’ and said “to commit yourself to yoga is the best type of life insurance you can buy” and that’s where my fascination with yoga started.

As I practiced more and discovered what yoga has to offer, on and off the mat, I realised I wanted to be able to share the teachings with others.

I completed 500 hours of training with the British Wheel of Yoga which includes Advanced Teacher Training. And went on to qualify as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition Consultant. Ayurveda and yoga are thought of as sister sciences as they originate from the same ancient roots and I was drawn to Ayurveda on a quest to discover more ways to support my body and mind in a holistic way.

A woman in a green sleeveless top is making Ayurvedic herbal tea, spooning rose petals into a tea pot in a kitchen. She is standing near a kitchen sink with a hanging plant on the wall behind her.

I remain just as curious now as when I began my journey in yoga and Ayurveda, if not more so! As they say ‘you are always a student’, I feel very fortunate to have trained with some amazing teachers on my journey so far and I intend to continue learning, exploring and deepening my knowledge, with the same curiosity and wonder that first drew me to these beautiful practices.

The name ‘Sole’ was inspired by the connection between my surname and feet, while also reflecting our deep connection to the earth and the natural world. Yoga teaches us how to feel more grounded and connected, and Ayurveda guides us to live more in harmony with the rhythms and cycles of nature. My mission is to help people reconnect with their true nature, remembering that ‘we are nature’ and not separate from it.

I invite you to join me on this journey of yoga and Ayurveda as we continue to grow and learn together…

We got Sole!
